April 01, 2024 | 61:07 | Views: 34,448 | PDUs: 1.00 | Rating: 4.69 / 5

Meetings are a necessary part of every project manager’s (and agilists’) day. However, as important as these events are (yes, meetings are events!), they are frequently poorly run and leave both meeting leaders and attendees dissatisfied. This can be detrimental to the project because of inherent miscommunication or non-communication, to say nothing of the reputation of the project leader. In this session, attendees will learn the fundamentals of good meeting management starting with having a good agenda to being “large and in charge” to dealing with meeting goblins – those nasty personalities that sometimes emerge during meetings. The increasing role of AI in meeting facilitation will also be discussed.

The Agile Enterprise: Emotional Intelligence in an Agile World

PREMIUM presentation
by Stelian Roman

Agile, the "new" product development approach started in the 1970s as an alternative to Lean Six Sigma, is now “scaling-up” by reverting to traditional practices like Kanban, Theory of Constraints, Voice of Customer, Kaizen, etc. Another area that is often included in scaled Agile is Emotional Intelligence. Unlike other Agile practices, stand-up, and meeting facilitation, Emotional Intelligence is not something that people can necessarily learn in an empiric way. It is a science, a very specialized domain that can't be easily simplified to the level of knowledge and experience of a specific role. This webinar is a Project Manager's view on how Emotional intelligence can be and is used in practice. It contains examples from the real world of how having Emotional Intelligence knowledge and skills can help to deliver a project.
