Mark is a project management iconoclast -- love him or hate him, he still has an opinion, and he's not afraid to express it. In many ways the quintessential 'accidental project manager', Mark is all about figuring out a better way to get stuff done, and isn't above inventing one when the situation calls for it. Or he gets bored.

Projects exist to create value. They are a means to an end--not an end in themselves. However, the means by which value is created by a project are often complex, risky, highly specialized, and idiosyncratic--especially when human beings are involved in the process! So what works for one project may not necessarily work for another one. But finding the right project solution to a business problem is what makes project management such an engaging and satisfying challenge for me.
