Okay elves, let’s get this sleigh loaded. It’s taken 364 days, but once more we brought this project in on time without any help!

“Err, that’s a negative Santa, we don’t have sign-off from health and safety yet.”

What do you mean we don’t have sign-off? I sent that request in weeks ago.

“Yeah, I know, but they are saying that there are new regulations about fuel safety on the sleigh and they can’t authorize Christmas until we have a certificate from the testing lab. It’s all in the last status report--page 35, bullet 18, part c.”

But…but I sent the reindeer for fuel testing months ago, how can we not have the certificate yet?

“Ah, yes, well, Prancer failed the drug test so they negated the results--they said he had too many oats in the system. Same status report, same page, same bullet, part d.”

Oh for Pete’s sake (and where is Pete, anyway?). Okay, what do we need to do to get sign-off now?

“Pete’s gone to talk to health and safety about an exemption so that we can launch on time.”

Alright, well contingency time…let’s load the sleigh anyway, then we can launch as soon as we get clearance and still have Christmas on the 25th.

“On it, Santa.”
