This article explores developing an authentic personality and the beneficial impacts that it brings. Ron Ashkenas and Brook Manville, organizational transformation authors, explained that authentic personality is about entrenching positive values or ethics intrinsically into the roots that define who we are (Ashkenas & Manville, 2019, pp.186–90). By tapping into entrenched roots, we can truly understand ourselves, with deep beliefs that thus enable our ability to be true to ourselves and sincere to others. Each of us is capable of developing authenticity and channeling it to credibility, which leads to gradually building trust and collaboration with our stakeholders.
When we optimally align our core values and inner beliefs with those of the organization, we are capable of influencing superiors and subordinates and motivating fellow members in the quest for developing organizational authenticity.
