There are literally hundreds of low-code/no-code software tools available in the marketplace, with new ones launching every day. Choosing the right platform for your citizen development project can seem daunting. Here are some simple steps that will help you identify which tool to use.

1. Define Your Requirements
You will have to define your and prioritize your requirements in order to be able to choose a suitable low-code/no-code platform. For example, do you need reporting functionality in the app? Do the apps you build need to be mobile-friendly?

Being very clear on the key requirements will help you to shortlist possible platforms. Take your time on this step as it will really help you to avoid unnecessary cost and wasted time by choosing the wrong platform.

For example, are you looking to automate workflows? Do you need to replace working with data on spreadsheets? Do you want to design and create content? Most vendors specialize in specific areas. Be sure to know what it is you are trying to achieve before picking a platform.
