5 Workplace AI Experiments: What Worked…& What Didn’t
I have been experimenting with artificial intelligence for about six months. The results are mildly positive, but I remain excited about the potential. I’ll share my experiments first, and then outline some considerations to keep in mind if you are considering using AI. (Unless otherwise noted, these examples are based on using ChatGPT.)

Here are a few ways I put ChatGPT to use to improve my productivity via brainstorming and drafting messages:
1. Draft a request for advice email: Asking for advice isn’t easy, so I thought I’d see if ChatGPT could help. The situation: I wanted to ask a college for advice on a career matter.
I used ChatGPT to draft an email and followed up with three changes to refine the output further. Before using the AI, I had already drafted the email. I kept about 90% of my original email and added some tweaks to reflect this message.
Verdict: I probably could have completed this task on my own. Using AI, in this case, was more about experimentation than immediately gaining productivity.
