Take The Responsibility "Thief & Onions"

Categories: Decision Making, Leadership, Strategic Planning

Once a thief steal in one of the farms is full of onions and stolen 200 onions. Before escape, the owner of the farm was arrest him and took him to the judge. The judge ordered him to pay a10 gold pieces, but the thief objected to the verdict...because the punishment is very unfair to him. The judge ordered him to choose between two verdicts, either flog 20 times or eat the 200 onions.

Without thinking, the thief chose to eat 200 onions. When he finished eating the 25's onion, his eyes were bursting with tears and his stomach was set on fire - He realized that it is impossible for him to eat the 175 onions remaining then he pleaded to the judge to flog 20 lashes instead of completing the eat.

For the second time, the judge agreed - but the thief and after the tenth lash that inflamed his back…It was only way to pleading to stop the punishment immediately of the severity of pain, which could not tolerated.

The judge responded to him for the third time, but provided he must paid the ten gold pieces. Therefore, the thief had paid the ten gold pieces. The judge then said to him "If you had accepted the penalty since the beginning ... you could have avoided eating the 25 onions and flogging the 20 lashes. Nevertheless, you preferred the difficult way.

Golden wisdom “ If you ever realize an error has done from you, instantly pay what you have to do or you have to bear the consequences without discussion”.
