Traditional versus Agile PM

As a recently certified Scrum master and a PMP, I am seeing more acceptance of agile methods in organizations that have been using more traditional project management approaches. However, I don't have a lot of data points to back this up. Are other people seeing an increased acceptance of agile techniques like Scrum or XP?

Jose asked about software that may support his efforts in small R&D department. I have found this site and I am using it (testing) in a similar application. Try it and see what you think.

With regard to control in Agile environment, this is the point; controlling timely desired outcomes. Also true that you need skilled and mature players. But you need to start from where you are not from where you want to be. If you think you want to become an agile team or organization you will have lots of work to do. This is not a reason to not do it. It is simply a statement of fact to acknowledge and consider.

To Lavetta's point, I agree. This would be the value to consider with the effort/risks to change. However, I have come to believe that the real risk is not necessarily change but often instead is staying the same. Weigh these directly competing risks and you should have a good idea about what to do.
