Brain Dump

Is there anyone familiar with "Crosswinds" boot camp? I am not in the actual boot camp itself, rather registered and studying from the book. There is a "Brain-Dumb" included and was wondering if anyone could provide some feedback. From what I am reading, they (PMI) has limited the brain-dump to 3 pieces of paper and two pencils. You are no longer allowed to write anything during the introduction of the PMP test. Thank you for your input and I appreciate everyone "adding" me and providing a wealth of knowledge. I am glad to be a part of this site. Bill Baxter (Project-Roads) also has a fantastic course that I am enrolled in and using a combination of both. Thank you in advance.

Pretty much correct. You are provided a booklet which is 3 pages. If you run out of paper, you (IIRC) have to trade in the full booklet for the new.

And yes, any brain dump can only occur once the test has begun. There is now a crackdown to prevent it occurring during the 15-minute how to introduction.

I had not heard of Crosswinds boot camp. Good luck Jon

True, you will not be allowed to write anything during the introduction section also it is important to be familiar with the screen navigation. The brain dump might not be very useful since there can be many questions situation based. It can help in cost and time calculation questions. All the best in your preparation.

Jonathan -

The brain dump is a risk response so you'll want to identify what sorts of info you are likely to experience a brain freeze with.

For some, it's formulas whereas for others it might be lists such as Tuckman's phases of team development.

Just remember that the majority of questions are scenario oriented.

I did an exam two months ago and what you’ve mentioned is more or less correct. No brain dump allowed and if so, it will be from your time, not before the exam.

I do not think you need more than a page or two for mind dumping. Just make sure to use your time wisely because time could be worse enemy than brain freeze.

Brain dumps can be a distraction. If you can commit it to memory in order to write down the brain dump, then for the most part you should be able to recall the parts of the brain dump you need to use when the question arises, and then only write that part down as needed.

I second Sante. Try not to depend on anything apart from your memory.
