Karthik -

The early years of my PM journey were made easier through the efforts of dedicated volunteers so I'm just trying to pay it back!

We work in a profession where having this type of support is a must have for furthering our personal development so let's pass it on!

It changed my way to look at the world!!

I began in 2012 with a project (www.iso-21500.es) to promote project management profession in spanish speaking countries and it was awesome how the project grew and it gave me back a lot of wonderful experiences and friends around the world.

It´s difficult to have the same feelings when you´re paid for it. Also you need a special leadership to manage it, because if people don´t trust on the project, they just leave....

I've been a very active PMI volunteer since 2013, and I've received as much as I've given from my various roles. At the chapter level, I've built a tremendous local network of colleagues and friends that have been a sounding board over the years, have pushed me to grow as a leader, and have led me to new career opportunities. At the global level, I have built a network of like-minded colleagues across the world that have helped me to expand my thinking even further. I agree with Mario, that it has changed my perception of the world!
