How the Ecosystem of Supply Chain Management affects the implementation of Digital Transformation Platform- Blockchain?

Blockchains rely on distributed system architectures. That includes a number of technical issues like how messages are passed between the systems efficiently, how the systems synchronize their “clocks”, how you can add and remove nodes from the network, how to detect errors and crashes, etc.

Each element of supply chain ecosystem that adds to the blockchain is a node in the distributed system. That means each node must have the infrastructure to interface with the network in terms of hardware and communication algorithms, and their own business systems must be able to translate data in a way where it can be passed as part of the blockchain.

Distributed systems, like those contributing to a blockchain involve multiple nodes that process data independently, and combine their results. The accuracy of the combined results can be very dependent on order of operations, just like multiplication and addition in basic algebra. This is important to things like configuration management and first-in-first-out processing.

Systems can use physical clocks which have time stamps as to when events occurred however even atomic clock times can drift apart significantly, and passing the results across a network involves a time delay. Instead, nodes may use "vector clocks" to pass information on the relationship of event sequence such as A occurred before B, allowing those relationships to be combined to sequence events.

How to add and remove nodes from a network is very dependent on system architecture. Google File System is extremely efficient at this and you can add and remove entire server racks without disruption, however it relies on a central controller while blockchains are decentralized by design. Instead, message passing algorithms are required to allow nodes to coordinate among themselves. These can be pings between nodes to detect activity, comparing information between nodes to see if they agree, deadlock prevention, and various other algorithms used to identify, prevent, and resolve potential problems within the system.

Can i say the correct design of Blockchain Architecture to connect the nodes ;i.e. the connected parties is major step to identify, prevent and resolve potential potential problems of the platform?
In other words, a technical blockchain architecturer is not only on technology knowledge . He may needs a well knowledge of the platform's process flow or have an expertise on the SCM ecosystem of that project platform?

Yes, the blockchain architecture is critical to the overall communication between the nodes and various error types related to distributed systems, but that is just one part specific to the blockchain technology itself.

Knowledge of the entire ecosystem is still required. The functions and process flows at different nodes, and how those need to fit together provides the underlying logical architecture for what specific information must be exchanged between nodes and why. The blockchain aspect is a communication layer that facilitates the integration of the different functions at each node, and the overall process flows.
