Suresh I cannot quote an exact percentage but one thing I am sure if you do not communicate well, effectively and efficiently then I am sure the project will fail! I have seen that happing to many times. Best
It can't be evaluated it depends on complexity and size's project
As you are doing a thesis this sounds like a great opportunity to conduct a survey to try to get a statistically relevant sample of sponsors or PMs to weigh in on this.
The challenge will be determining whether communication was the root cause of a project's failure or just a contributing factor.
I agree with Kiron. However, it has to do with the nature and size of the project.
Failure due to communication problem is usually in top 3 or 4 according to surveys.
100% of the projects are bound to fail due to lack of communication. If people don't talk they will not know what to produce.
I am sorry I am the bringer of bad news here but I don't think there's a need to do any research or write a thesis on a common sense fact.
