Do you think there is simplicity in approaching the PMBOK Guide?
I recently had the opportunity to listen to a webinar by Doctor Antonio Nieto.
In this webinar the author addressed the simplicity of most management theories: 5 Porter Forces, 4 P's Marketing, Kotter's Change Model. Considers that there is simplicity in the approach of the PMBOK Guide for Project Management

I think many would say that the PMBOK Guide is overly complicated. I know that it is a great cure whenever I have insomnia :-). Hopefully this is addressed in the Seventh Edition...

I would agree that any attempt to codify a set of practices, principles or processes to deal with uncertainty is simplifying a complex situation.

PMBOK guide is the basis for understanding all Project Management processes and phases. Though, reading it only once it is not sufficient for underlying a simple approach to it. Once you fully understand it, all concepts become simple and straight-forward, having the common sense as a natural liaison within it.

Dear Luis,

PMBOK guide looked very dry to me the first time I read.

But when I related PMBOK to my practical experience while referring other PM books, It was just like a cakewalk the second time I read.
