I've always stated that we should never refer to people as "resources". However, as many of the processes are shared for people and materials/equipment, rather than add a new knowledge area, a simple renaming of the existing one OR moving the team related content to the project stakeholder engagement knowledge area would work.
Remember that the 7th edition will be less process/ITTO based and more principle-based and is a full rewrite from the ground up so there may be an opportunity to fix this wording for good!

For me it is not just a word but a set of concepts behind what people, relationships and communication, teamwork and leadership are all about.
