No Disciplined Agilists willing to throw a bone?
You have to remember that even though DA has been around for a while and the toolkit has been always favored by Gartner, they haven't had a significant footprint from a marketing, business development, or operations infrastructure perspective.
I personally liked that, because it made my interactions with the folks at the Consortium feel that much more personal than when you deal with some huge company.
Although the acquisition happened nine months ago, the backlog of work items for the alignment of DA offerings with what PMI folks consider to be "normal" is quite deep so I'm sure they will get there, but patience is needed.
The current exam is very much tied to the course content (e.g. slides & exercises). I would expect this to change in the not too distant future and when it does, simulators may start to bubble up in priority.
Thanks for sharing your insights and experience. You gave a very nice context to things, which makes perfect sense.
Another question regarding the exam, in terms of difficulty (for the common mortals in these areas) where would you rank the current exam in comparison to PMP, ACP and other PMI certifications (feel free to use other agile certifications, if you'd like)?
I might not be representative of a typical candidate as I found the ACP very easy and others in the community did not. If I had to rank the exam-based certs I hold from easiest to hardest it would be:
It was exactly what I was looking for... :)
* Do we have one exam per certificate or is it just one exam and the rest is experience based? Based on the information on the site it seems it's option 2.
* Experience is exclusively after the training? Or if we have enough experience previous to the exam, it counts?
Option 2 - your experience determines which certification you can apply for after passing the same exam. The only exception is the CDAC which has a different exam.
You can either gain experience after passing the exam or use what you had before. Passing the exam will get you the CDA, but then you have to fill out the application for either the CDAP or DALSM depending on which you are going for and submit it.
Thanks for the clarifications. Most valuable :)
It was a nice question to ask and also a good help from Kiron.
Thank you to both of you..
