New exam version in January 2021
The new exam pattern will come into affect from January 2021.

Is it going to be tougher than the current one?
Also, is it sufficient to read PMBOK 6th edition to attend it?
Will candidates have to read up other books also?

Dear Afshan Sheikh
You can consult here the list of publications recommended by PMI:

1. Who knows - no one has taken both tests yet so only once that happens would we know if the new one is any more challenging that the existing one

2. No - the 6th edition is one of multiple references used by exam item writers when creating questions for the exam. PMI provides a list here: https://www.pmi.org/certifications/project...-reference-list

The exam might not be tougher, but it will be different in the nature and types of questions.

As for the references, no, the PMBOK alone won’t be enough and there are a list of other references mentioned on PMI Website. Check this link, it might give you a better understanding:

Hi Afshan,

This question is very important for many people who still interested in getting PMP.
Only PMI can answer this question , however in my opinion PMP question will be situational questions from experience of PM.
Also professional PMs says PMP questions comes from a lot of PM resources.

Hi Afshan,
The exam will surely have the same strength based on your preparation ... in addition to PMBok, read Rita Mulcahy too
