- clear and precise defined scope and project charter
- clear defined and detailed documented requirements
- clear defined and consequent used integrated change control process just from the beginning of the project
- well understanding of the project management processes and the need of ICC among all the stakeholders
- a good team
By understanding that you, as project manager, do not take decision about changes in your project, mainly regarding scope. That´s all. Simple to state but hard to implement.
I have to reiterate scope creep is controlled through those things but communication is essential to control it.
