PMI-ACP® Terms Relay Race !
Network:1520

Let us play a relay race of PMI-ACP® Terms.

Rules:
>You start from the last letter of the term posted previously.
>In case, more than one terms posted with same letters (concurrently posted), you start with the latest term.
>Only PMI-ACP® Terms in this relay.
>A term may include multiple words.
>Acronyms are fine. please include the expansion before the description.
>Your term needs to be followed by a short description of the term.
>No successive posting of term by the same member. The below one is fine.
member A: --------L
member B: L----- --- ----D
member A: D---- ------ ----
> If you don't get a term starting from a particular letter(last letter of previous term), feel free to start from the next letter. e.g. previous term - buzz, if you don't get a term starting with 'z', you may start with 'a'. (Hoping this rule will be rarely used.:)
>End date of game: No end date. Till the game goes on.

Vasi,
CATALYSTS.

Terms stated are not correct. Agile is not something related to software or IT and is not a method or methodology. Traditional project management does not exist. What exist is project management and there is not an adjective for it. So, with all my due respect, is very important to use the terms in the right way because, if not, it jeopardize the work for people that are trying to use agile.

Thanks Sergio Luis Conte for your opinion. With due respect to that, have changed the title to PMI-ACP® terms relay race instead of agile. Will change the title fo the previous terms relay race also from Traditional Project Management to Project Management.

No problem. Now, I agree (hehehehehe). But it is not about I agree or not. Believe me, I am in my seventh initiative to implement agile at enterprise wide level and I have participated in things like I was one of the authors of version 1 and 2 of DSDM and it is really dificult to deal with the situation where you have to explain to the same people that have been hired to you that is not true when they think things like "thanks agile software development we will deliver faster" "thanks the use agile we can change what I want at any time" "using agile we will avoid documentation" etc. etc. etc.

Genchi Genbutsu - In Japanese, this means "go and see for yourself." It is the conviction that real time experience is more useful than theory. One must see the problem to understand the problem rather than hear about a problem from someone else. This will help in making an informed decision about the solution. - See more at: http://www.scrumstudy.com/

User story: A user story is a very high-level definition of a requirement, containing just enough information so that the developers can produce a reasonable estimate of the effort to implement it. It is written in the business language of the end user that captures what a user does or needs to do as part of his or her job function.

Acceptance testing - is a validation activity conducted to determine whether or not a system satisfies its acceptance criteria. It is the last phase of the software testing process.

Just one comment trying to add something to this interesting post. For those who will prepare the PMI-ACP certification exam take care about the terms. There is a big problem, in my understanding, with the meaning of some terms. If you read the books and documents inside the Reference List you will find more than one definition. For example, about sprints and sprint duration.

Interesting. If you could share the different definitions of these terms for the benefit of other members, it would be great.

"This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy."
