Tips on getting your resume seen by humans
Network:9381

As far as you know, some companies are using some screen software to analyze the resume. Bet the robots are not always easy, and after reading a lot of info about this topic, I've obtained the following list:

- Use keywords, that's not difficult. Each sector or profession have their own keywords and is not difficult to use it.

- Don't use fancy format, logos, tables. As I'm not a web designer or a very artistic girl, that was easy.

- Use bullets to explain your experience. OK, this is something cultural, we should adapt the resume to the country that we are applying. Take care with this one.

- The position of the dates. I'm struggling with this one, some articles said before of the company and title, other said before...any tip?

Is your company using this kind of screening programs? Some tips for all us that are looking for a job and want to beat the robots.

@Anupam, as far as I know, when I upload a resume or CV using taleo, the hiring manager will have the correct format, but...also taleo provides filters to discard people that applied to your company?

@Anupam, as I'm struggling to look for something, I've realized that sometimes is the desired salary (the system don't allow me to write OPEN) others the studies degree (I can't choose countries different to the US), that are discarding me in job positions that from my point of view I fit 100%.

Could you share some tips for the people that are struggling with this platforms or programs that read the resume?

Not exactly only keywords, it's how you explain your skills.

With platforms as Taleo or SAP Career success is easy manage and to fill your application form for a job, my big concern nowadays is with small companies that use a small or tailored software that looks for "their keywords"

For example, a few days ago I've received a mail from a non-replay mail address that knocks me down "sorry, we are pursuing other candidates because your Spanish is not proficiency"
I've checked my resume, I'm NATIVE, and I've written native, in the resume and this company with their amazing filters decided that my Spanish level is not enough for them.

Crazy isn't?

Is for that I'm researching, and I'll write a post entry in my blog with all my research. I would like to help to all project managers that are unassigned to win this robotic battle.
