Hi John, I would like to recommend you, to post it also as a poll, like this you will not need to check all by one all our answers.

My personal opinion/comments:

1- Too long title,
2 - My favorite.
3 - Rally?? a little difficult to understand for non-native speakers

By the way, I also take care about the front page when I go to a bookstore to choose a new book.

Question, are you going to keep the capital letters as you posted?

Hope it helps.

Thanks Everyone! Thanks Maria! Do you read the cover, the flaps, or literally the first page of the book?

Usually, following this order, title, cover design (color, photos), if there are a small bio and photo of the author, (I try to don't judge the author by the photo, but is nice to know something about him/her) the back cover (something special?).

After I open the book, I check the two first pages, if there are greetings, an index with the chapters, a size of the letter, and also, I fast read the first page in order to see if writing stile engage me.

If the price will fit my budget, and all the mentioned topics engage me, I buy the physical book.

Hi Maria,

Thanks again! Do you buy many books from Amazon without physically inspecting the book? How do you make a decision then? I personally like to do the same thing (although interestingly, I do not read about the author on the flaps until after purchasing). Do reviews written on the jacket influence your decision?

For books on Amazon, I usually read the reviews, and if they offer a "sneak peek," I tend to read as much as I can to gather some of the concepts up front to see if it is still interesting, and then finally I look at price and if it is Prime, otherwise if there is a good used price.

Thanks again, and thanks again everyone for reading and replying. This has been most helpful!

I take a fast look at the reviews, but usually, I follow my instinct.

When I buy a book because I want it (training proposals, someone recommended me) the process is different, I check online the prices in different places and also if some friend has the digital copy before to read it.

The process that I mentioned is when I'm walking a bookstore, or a marketplace, when you are looking for something to read that is not in your "pending books".
I'm old fashion about books buying process.

Let me ask you one question, this book proposal will be only published on Amazon or is also a physical book? I think that how you'll engage the readers will be completely different.

Understandable. Thank you again for your response! This is one of several books that I am working on. In fact, it will be both physical and electronic, however initially Amazon will be the main marketplace. I published an audiobook in the past, so this will be the start of a new publication effort.

I will keep the community posted. Perhaps when I get to cover designs, I can post them, and everyone can vote? You mentioned polls earlier... is there a way to do polls on this site other than the webinars? Either way, I love reading through all the responses and getting further insights.

Please let us know if 'Kindle' version of the book will also be available.
