Upper Management report tool

I would like to create a view where upper management can open a file or tool or template and see at a high level. Okay we have 14 projects current and 6 of which are due June 4 are due Sept so on. I would also like the tool to let me know if it is running over or late? or even coming up soon to expire?

What type of project management software are you using? For example, are you using an in house application, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, or some other cloud application?

If you have funds that you can spare, there are a number of tools out there.

Check out www.smartsheet.com

Any of the above would work but if you don't have the funds or dev team to help build something. Excel can come in handy. I have used Excel to create a tasklist by project and simple Status completed Y or N and use simple calculation can work. With Excel formula, you can do some creative reporting.

The tool does not matter. What matter is, after your project stakehodler analysis, clearly determine the information needed for each project stakeholder including the uppper management. Thinking about a tool without understanding project stakeholder needs relating to information is the clasical "silver bullet" sindrome.

^ Correct. The tool is merely another pathway in presenting the information. No matter the tool, if the information is dirty, and the analysis has not been done to understand what is desired, then the tool will not help.

That said, dependent on your current PM/PPM tool, extracting the data certainly can be simpler, and offer a significant time savings.

Check this one out. May suit your needs

One of the tolls I like to use is Tableau--the Dashboard creating tool, which uses EXCEL and other data to create management dashboards. Might want to look t it.

Once you've understood their requirements and agreed on a reporting format, it should be pretty simple to create a file within word or excel, load it into a cloud based drive and provide access to your stakeholders.
As long as you keep it up to date on a regular basis they can check in and see the current status of the projects.
