Hello Tony Yang, Yes it would be a great platform for cross learning.

It is safe to say this community offers an informal mentoring forum for project managers. I suspect you are wondering if there should be a formal mentoring program beyond what the chapters offer.

Hello Parent,

Nice input. This community offers an informal way of connecting with people, learning and sharing resources on a global level but i will think that mentoring should have a personal touch. What is your thought concerning this....

Not that I know of. Only learning is through PMI chapter meetings and these forums.

Hello Deepa,

Ok great. Chapters provide some support to members. (It depends on your chapter) Do you think it would be nice to have a global mentorship platform where you get coaching from people beyond your immediate locality?

It depends on the individual, Michael. You can give and receive feedback that is appropriate without a "personal touch". Where the personal touch come into play is in helping the protégé identify his needs and objectives.

That would be useful. I would like to see the creation of such a program.

I think it is a great idea! It would be nice to have 1:1 mentoring in a virtual environment - maybe pre-planned number of sessions with certain topics. In the meantime, this is a really forum and all the different platforms on this site are great for growing your knowledge.

1:1 mentoring in a virtual environment is a great idea. This is an altruistic community and some members of my network have offered their assistance that you can reach out to them for any advice.

I also agree with Mr. Parent: "You can give and receive feedback that is appropriate without a "personal touch..."
