Can I use the same projects that I used in my PMP application for my PMI-RMP exam?
Network:195

Just got my PMP certification. Was planning to pursue ACP or RMP next, can I use the same work experience that I previously submitted for my PMP exam?

Please provide tips on how to proceed with the PMI-RMP/ACP application.

I am a PM handling telco projects, and is managing projects end-to-end. Thanks!

For PMI-ACP you can not use the same work experience if you were not using Agile methodology. PMI requires:
"1,500 hours working on agile project teams or with agile methodologies. This requirement is in addition to the 2,000 hours of general project experience".
Though your role can be any in an agile team as a product owner, designer, software developer or tester etc.
For PMI-RMP however, you can mention same projects if you have been managing risk in those projects. As PMI requires:
"3,000 hours of project risk management experience", which is done in every project whether you applied agile methodology or otherwise.

For the PMI-ACP. Since you have the PMP this will waive the 2000 hours but you still need the following
1,500 hours working on agile project teams or with agile methodologies. This requirement is in addition to 2,000 Hrs of general project experience.
21 contact hours of training in agile practices.

You did not quite answer his question... the information provided is available at PMI.ORG

@Paulo: I do not see why you cannot provide the same work experience if it is in line with the requirements for RMP/ACP; if your references will endorse your claim, I believe you are good to go.

Paolo,

For RMP, I beleive you can use the same work experience as the one used for PMP as Risk Management is part of the PMP but the only difference is you need to report the hours per project worked on Risk Management.

For ACP, if your experience included working on Agile, then yes, you can report those too.

Agree with Rami/Dan,

Paolo can go ahead with same set of experience which is applicable for other courses as well. Few skills might require additional experience credentials.

Thanks

I personally agree with Rami for RMP you can use same work experince as PMP but report hours worked on Risk management and for ACP time utilize working on agile.

I do agree with all , why do not use ?

Paolo,

You can use the extracted hours related to risk for the RMP and those related to Agile for the ACP.

Check you PMP application be consistent with it

Hi All,

I do understand now that I can use the same experience that I've indicated in my PMP application for my RMP it is just that I will only consider the time I am performing/executing related activities to risk management. Also, will use my PMP experience previously submitted as my reference and to be consistent to it.

I appreciate all your help and inputs. Thank you! Happy Holidays!
