Do not confuse us

In my administrative profile as an accountant and on the other hand a leader in information technologies, I realize it is feasible for some people involved in projects that confuse project management with general business administration, while business administration is maintained over time, project management manages finite enterprises with specific objectives, both business administration and project management use planning, resource management, execution and control to achieve the objectives, then, knowledge of management processes General is necessary, but not sufficient, to ensure successful project management.

Is this conflation really prevalent? Even universities offering MBA courses for project management have the latter only as a course (and not the entire syllabus).

I only ask as I personally have not come across anyone who equates project management with general business administration/ management.
