Reporting to SVP-Engineering Projects/Manager IFEC and New Technology

Focal engineer for the following activities and projects:
• Engineering Project Focal for Panasonic Global Communication Suite (GCS) – eXTV (Live TV), eXphone
(GSM & GPRS) and eXconnect (Internet) retrofit installations on Emirates B777-300ER
o Led the First-of-Type GCS retrofit STC project on B777-300ER within 21days of grounding during C-check

• Panasonic eX3 AVOD IFE system definitions, upgrades, core & applications software development &
acceptance testing (ATP) and induction on Emirates’ Boeing B777 and Airbus A380 fleet
o Accomplished B777-300ER IFE system upgrade with custom made IFE LRUs (seat displays and wireless
seat mode controller) for B777-300ER linefit on a compressed 15 months schedule from concept to

• Monitor IFEC performance and in-service issues identification and resolution on Emirates’ in-service fleet by
close collaboration with external suppliers, regional Repair Station and all internal Emirates departments
i.e. Engineering Technical Services, Emirates IT, Cabin Crew, Avionics Workshop, Line/Base Maintenance,
QA, Aircraft Scheduling, Maintenance Planning, Technical Records, Training, Warranty & Contracts and
Procurement & Logistics

• Extensive participation in Emirates new aircraft delivery B777-300ER and A380-800 Customer Walks at
OEMs i.e. Boeing and Airbus for IFEC and Cabin Systems acceptance

• Extensive involvement for Emirates B777-300ER and B777X CSS Definition and Cabin Mood Lighting
Concepts to Delivery through workshops held at Boeing Everett Payloads Concept Center (PCC) and
Airplane Integration Center (ACC)

• IFEC next generation technical specification generation through latest product information gathering
through in-service experience, passenger surveys, feedback from all internal stakeholders and external
conferences (APEX) & Aircraft Interior Exhibitions (AIX)
o Led the technical evaluation of next generation IFEC system from Panasonic and Thales for 50 EK’s
B777-300ER and 32 A380-800 orders
o Led the technical evaluation on Emirates B777X IFEC supplier selections
o Currently working on aggressive schedule with Seat and IFEC suppliers through ITCM/PDR/CDR/ FAI for
Emirates First-of-Type B777-9 four class configuration that is slated for EIS in June 2020

• Author monthly In-flight Entertainment & Connectivity (IFEC) Newsletter for Emirates Airlines internal
circulation on current IFEC projects progress, on-going issues & resolutions, upcoming projects on new
aircraft deliveries and industry news on emerging IFEC technologies.
