Project Risk Management/Subcontract Management

by John Ayers
October 21, 2020 | 64:30 | Views: 3,080 | PDUs: 1.00 | Rating: 4.33 / 5

The four knowledge cornerstones of project risk management are: • Project Management (how to run a project) • Earned Value Management (how to measure project performance) • Risk Management (how to identify and mitigate risks) • Subcontract Management (how to manage subcontractors) This Webinar addresses how to manage subcontracts. Many companies today subcontract out a majority of their work. As a result, the subcontract becomes a risk to the project. This Webinar focuses on how to select a subcontractor and how to monitor a subcontractor to minimize this risk. The Webinar will cover the subcontractor selection process, subcontractor planning considerations, and types of subcontractor changes. Subcontractor risk stories are presented as an example of how to avoid pitfalls.

The Agile Enterprise: Spotlight on Agile Implementation Failures

by Stelian Roman
October 16, 2020 | 61:31 | Views: 3,913 | PDUs: 1.00 | Rating: 4.44 / 5

Agile is often advertised as the silver bullet in the training class that will deliver "twice the scope in half the time." In principle, the topic of this webinar, agile implementation failures, may be unexpected from someone who used Agile practices long before they were called Agile and who was a champion of adoption of XP and Scrum in the early 2000s when Agile adoption was considered "crazy." One of the fundamental principles of Agile is to fail fast, learn, and recover. But accepting failure is not always as easy as it seems. When a manager “motivates” his team with "failure is not an option" or expects the Project Manager or the Scrum Master to be a "pusher" rather than a servant leader, learning from small mistakes becomes an important process. This webinar presents several situations when Agile failed, analyzing the root cause and what could have been done differently to avoid failure.
