So, how can we help project professionals to practice it? The Agile Enterprise: Combining Disciplined Agile Delivery with the PMBOK® Guide

by Stelian Roman
May 08, 2020 | 60:35 | Views: 5,861 | PDUs: 1.00 | Rating: 4.33 / 5

Disciplined Agile Delivery is the 'new' Agile framework adopted by PMI. Although currently not as popular as Scaled Scrum, Disciplined Agile can be seen a competitor to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), another framework presenting itself as an evolution of Agile/Scrum to the Enterprise Level. This webinar is an analysis of Disciplined Agile from a Project Manager's point of view - how Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) can be used to deliver projects, not necessarily software development projects. The framework is analyzed from the Agile Enterprise perspective looking at how DAD combines 'old' practices, like Lean, with Agile Manifesto values and principles. The webinar also explores how the PMBOK® Guide can augment DAD to become an Enterprise level, industry agnostic Agile delivery option.

Social Intelligence for Project Managers – Cat Herding 101

by Kim Wasson
May 07, 2020 | 60:05 | Views: 12,079 | PDUs: 1.00 | Rating: 4.69 / 5

Project managers need to balance people, teams, process, product, and a host of other things. The people/team part of the equation (especially the team part) often falls through the cracks - it’s harder to quantify, and the guideposts are few and far between. Getting a team working well together can be like herding cats - just when you think you’ve got them all going the same direction, another one wanders off. Social intelligence (a kind of sideways look at emotional intelligence) can help us herd those cats effectively, keeping the project as well as the team together. It gives us some clues to understanding and managing the connections between people, most particularly those we work with on a regular basis.

Understanding Change Resistance – Avoid resistance, don’t cause it

by Ross Wirth
May 06, 2020 | 61:35 | Views: 10,871 | PDUs: 1.00 | Rating: 4.57 / 5

Change resistance is usually accepted as normal, but this begs two questions - who gets to define “resistance,” and what causes it? This webinar examines the normal reasons behind resistance and then goes deeper into the interaction between the change team and those impacted by the change to find the real reasons for resistance. Further, change resistance is often used by the change team as an excuse for their mistakes in determining what needs to change (and what needs protection from change) or how they choose to involve others in the process (including what they can learn from what appears as resistance).
