Standards are developed by credible, recognized bodies, in particular by ISO and by PMI. This presentation will discuss the process by which standards are developed in an open, consensus-based manner, and you will learn how you can get involved in the development of standards at PMI and at the national and international level.

by Stelian Roman
June 14, 2019 | 58:16 | Views: 3,223 | PDUs: 1.00 | Rating: 4.30 / 5

Agile is a continuous improvement process in itself, but at the enterprise level, most of the Agile frameworks can’t be used for process improvement because the business area has very limited room for agility due to strong governance requirements or because of the culture and strong resistance to change. Process Improvement is a very well defined discipline that has tools and metrics that can easily be used to measure the benefits delivered by transition to Agile. This webinar presents some options for improving processes that have an Agile component but are not entirely Agile.

Less than half of organizations consistently report high strategic alignment in their project management practices despite established research linking business success to strategic alignment in projects. Regulatory implementation programs, in particular, are susceptible to being operationally (as opposed to strategically) managed with the sole focus on “getting the job done”.

Graf von Moltke was a Prussian Field Marshal who developed a rather genius, and simple, method to stack up his generals based on intelligence and initiative (or lack thereof.) The smart & lazy rose to the top because they made the right thing happen, at the right time and found the easiest way to do so. Marshal your projects (pun intended) and take control of your life!

Virtually everyone agrees that projects benefit significantly when team members and key stakeholders speak up to ask questions, voice concerns (early!), and provide honest feedback. It’s that candid feedback that helps teams arrive at better decisions and sometimes avoid all-out calamity, but the truth is that oftentimes team members (even PMs) don’t feel free to speak up.
