Project Management Processes, both predictive and adaptive, are applied to a variety of projects including "repeating projects." This webinar addresses the processes of initiate, plan, execute, monitor/control, and close (as well as burn down charts in Agile) related to piloting a small general aviation aircraft. The webinar will explain the type of aircraft, the procedures involved in everything from takeoff to touchdown (landing), and finally how this application can help you "land" your next project.

Sustainable project practices are about more than “being green”. Sustainability requires that we look beyond the scope, schedule, and budget of the temporary project and consider the larger “Triple Bottom Line” that projects operate within. The triple bottom line evaluates performance in a broader perspective considering economic, ecological, and social impacts otherwise known as the 3Ps - Profit, Planet, People. As the agents of change in organizations, Project Managers, are uniquely positioned to identify and lead the change that impacts your “Triple Bottom Line” while creating greater business value.

This webinar introduces an article, “In Search of Project Management Principles”, recently published in the Project Management Journal, PMI’s research journal. The objective of the article is to determine whether a set of project management principles can be identified to serve as a common framework for developers and publishers of project management standards and guidelines. Twenty-two project management standards and other consensus documents were reviewed, revealing a common understanding across the globe of the requirements for effective project management. Potential statements of principles were extracted, clustered into four categories, and 12 principles were found to be common to multiple sources. These 12 principles were rewritten in a pre-specified, consistent form. The authors hope that this set of principles will serve as a common basis for future standards and guidelines on project management.
