Following in the footsteps of a seminal book The Black Swan by Nicholas Nassim Taleb, I will demonstrate key failures of traditional risk management and stakeholder management practices in projects where extreme unknown unknowns are concerned. A special attention would be given to explaining how identification of Black Swans and planning the response for them is different from the traditional techniques we apply with tractable risks (known unknowns). More importantly, I will address the Project Management Principle of „Embrace Adaptability and Resiliency“ in the 7th edition of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) as the fundamental, if not perfect, remedy to negative impacts of Black Swans that we need to apply for the benefit of the project and its stakeholders.

The evolution of the web has meant a considerable shift in how tools are developed, how teams work, and how the projects are managed. The days of waterfall are long over, and the stringent rules of Scrum and Kanban don’t necessarily apply either. For a team working in the collaborative web3 space, we needed something new.
In this talk, I will explain my approach to managing teams and projects in the web3 universe. I’ll explain how deeply ‘iterative development’ has impacted the teams, but also the planning process. Buckle up!

For decades, leaders and managers have been trained to think and act on upon the assumption that employees and customers are rational beings. Motivational, organisational and structural approaches have been developed on the premise that people know what is good for them and that they behave accordingly. Therefore rewards, bonuses, job promotions as well as punishments have been designed to make sure people understand and achieve goals. However, there is strong scientific evidence that this approach is not just irrelevant but dangerous because it does not accept humans as they are: emotional, irrational and primarily focused on their survival. Management styles need to change and modern leaders have to reconsider their approach. This webinar provides both the evidence for the need to change and directions on how this should happen. Prepare for the holistic brain leader!

When writing Acceptance Tests, we respond to requirements and essentially turn them into scenarios that can be specified, tested, and then implemented. However, sometimes requirements are stated in a way that make the scenarios too large for effective testing and development. This webinar will investigate why this is, suggest techniques that can be used to decompose them into smaller scenarios, and demonstrate this using a real-world example of a complex business rule.
