What is Agile? Why do I care? How is it relevant to me? These common questions reflect the state of confusion and ambiguity that surrounds the concept of agility. This webinar will attempt to resolve these questions by cutting through the ambiguity with practical, relevant insights into agility and its application to project teams - including teams not using iterative techniques in the design and scheduling of their projects. Real world examples of application in linear, task-driven projects in complex, regulated environments will provide a context for how agility can be applied even when your team isn't an "Agile team".
This presentation covers the basics of four common scrum ceremonies, including purpose; inputs and outputs; recommended participants; and duration/occurrence. Use it to help orientate team members to the process.
This presentation is the supporting document for this video. It walks you through an ingenious way to keep traditional waterfall-minded management happy and informed about the progress of a scrum project without doing a lot of extra work or compromising the elements that make the agile approach powerful.
The purpose of the Scrum of Scrums is to synchronize projects that are interdependent upon one another and to discuss any roadblocks, impacts and mitigation strategies. Use this simple PowerPoint deck to track project progress and roadblocks.
Where should you use Scrum and where should you use Kanban? Many factors weigh into this decision, including whether your teams are in development or maintenance mode and whether their work is highly predictable or sporadic. Attendees of this webinar will come away with a better understanding of Scrum and Kanban and when to utilize each, together or separately, to improve agility of their teams.
Presenting the SCRUMBAN framework and discussing what would change in SCRUM in adopting this combination
As the number of projects in organizations skyrocket, understanding project fundamentals and fostering project management skills have become essential. Leaders have too many projects with too little visibility into them, and they lack the project oversight and delivery competencies to untangle them. In a recent survey with Harvard Business Review, we wanted to look at the current challenges faced by senior leaders when dealing with projects and project management, as well as their expectations for the future. The results, combined with other case studies, will help us better understand how organizations are using projects now, where they are finding success with projects, and where they are struggling. The session will help project managers translate their hands-on know-how up to the leader’s-eye view.
