This template aims to tie business case commitments to specific tracking activities and measures. Not all projects will have objective measures, but it is not acceptable to ignore that form of benefit realization for all initiatives. This plan should be completed at the same time as the business case, and the measured and total benefits identified here should align with the commitments made in the business case.

Once the work breakdown structure and the schedule are defined, this document can be used to plan and monitor the costs for each individual activity or work package. This template lets you subdivide an activity or work package into smaller parts (cost items). For each of these cost items, you can plan the corresponding costs in detail.
The drafting of a project budget always starts with a technical estimate of the quantities of materials, manpower hours and equipment needed to carry out the project. This system allows the project engineer to make estimates as they see fit, and the project manager to draw up the budget according to the detail most suited to project management.
Business analysis tasks will continue throughout the project duration, and beyond the conclusion of a project. Documentation helps with negotiation, assessing achievements, resolving disputes and evaluating project worth. This set of simple forms helps with recording business needs assessment through to business requirements analysis.
The goal of this business case template is twofold: Clearly explain the project benefit to decision makers; and provide traceable, measurable and consistent data for benefit realization analysis after project implementation. This template has annotated instructions in blue to explain the intent or recommended use of the information. Organizations can adapt the template to their unique structure.
