Instead of trying to put Microsoft® Project in a web browser, Steelray presents web pages that non-project managers will want to use. If the Quality Assurance manager wants to know when a particular feature will be available for testing, she can easily find out on her custom web page. Requiring only an Internet connection and a web browser, Steelray is an easy, quick, and convenient way for your team members to view project task status.
The main idea behind Steelray is simple access to project status. Each team member has a personal web page to review and communicate task information.
Team members using different technology can now receive and communicate project information. Steelray operates in almost any web browser for team members using Macintosh, PC, or Unix workstations.
If the project manager allows it, team members can update the status of a task in the Microsoft project database from within Steelray®. This will decrease the amount of time it takes the project manager to collect task status information. The project manager may choose instead to receive these status updates via email, where they can review and approve each change.
