The Thomsett Company-Third Wave Project Management
Our approach to PM is based on a number of fundamental concepts:
- the planning of projects should be participatory and involve business clients and other internal stakeholders, and external service providers;
- PM focuses on business and management issues such as scope, objectives, costs, benefits, risks, quality and schedules - not technical issues;
- the role of management as project sponsors involves them in proactive project assistance rather than reactive and "hands-off" direction;
- PM is a dynamic process that is driven by management of change;
- the focus of PM is on the understanding and realisation of the added value or benefits of the product over the total life-cycle including the support phase; and
- PM is a creative problem-solving process that occurs throughout the project rather than at the beginning and end.
