Stanford Advanced Project Management combines Stanford University's academic and research expertise with the proven project management methodologies of IPS Learning. The result is a dynamic curriculum that provides advanced skills and practical instruction on the processes, organizational structure, and tools that assure that project work yields the desired business results. This program is a true blend of leadership training and program management skill-building with the ultimate goal of building stronger leaders and managers who can convert strategy into action and results through a strong focus on execution. The required courses are Converting Strategy into Action, Mastering the Project Portfolio and Leadership for Strategic Execution. Electives cover a gamut of management topics, ranging from Managing Without Authority to Financial Mastery for Projects to Executing Complex Programs. Individuals completing six courses, including the three required courses, will receive the Stanford Advanced Project Management certificate. This certificate grants the professional credential of Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM), which may be used on business cards and resumes. Records are archived with Stanford University at the Stanford Center for Professional Development office and are available for verification upon request. Courses may be taken in any order and any method of instruction - on-campus, on-line or on-site at your organization. However, we highly recommend that you take Converting Strategy into Action as your first course, as it introduces the framework for all the other courses in the program.
