Authentic Leadership and Project Failure
Can you imagine that about 20% of the world’s estimated GDP in 2009 was spent on projects? Standish Group released chaos report indicates that just 1/3 of all projects are successful. I believe that there are too many project cases where the personal (individual and collective) individual objectives gain control over professional standards and ethical behavior that lead the projects to failure! Too many decisions are taken based on sales priorities and not long-term, ethical, orderly! It's not the fault of the sale, but the professional price one pays for sales is the question We have to demystify the more strongly that there is not project management itself that necessarily fails as much as it's been said, but the organisation. The organisation management capability for i) Decision management / lack of control, ii) Conflict management /leadership and iii) lack of authentic management (long-term, ethical and orderly management). I believe in the need for a paradigm shift in market philosophy in the way to create, sell and buy projects.
