Generating opportunities from constraints – Ethics for project success
From their investigating about complexity theories and their appliance to management context, authors assume that projects are Complex Adaptive Systems, i.e. systems characterized by self-organizing, emerging and unpredictable behaviours at the “edge of chaos”. The idea of ethics as a constraint is then investigated, to introduce a new paradigm for ethics in projects, according to which ethics can be considered as a key factor to produce opportunities and success, instead of being perceived as a limit to stakeholders’ power. In the end some concrete suggestions are proposed to promote the establishment of the new ethical approach.
