CONTEMPORARY ISSUES IN PM MATURITY
The conceptual and modularization of project management maturity models is based on the principle of process control. This research was designed to challenge these boundaries to reveal non-process factors. Using two case studies of university projects, the findings indicate that mature undefined projects require non process factors such as: increased customer involvement and a more adaptable organizational environment that enables trust, positive attitude and team motivation. We conclude by discussing how a “big data” approach can support future research into non process areas by uncovering the nature and extent interactions within organizations that underpin project activities.
