Rather than resisting as I thought they would, my team is pushing hard to use artificial intelligence on company projects. What things should I be considering before I go to upper management and push for this to become a reality? I don’t really know as much as I should to be making a decision of this impact​?

A. It’s important to maintain the interest and involvement of the younger people on the team. So, whenever a new product is released, you should petition the organization to adopt it as soon as possible. In today’s competitive market, we can’t afford to get left behind and lose important personnel.

B. AI can do the job of many of our current employees. As we ask them to help us configure it to do more of their current roles, they may feel threatened and worried that they will become redundant. It is better to avoid taunting them until it becomes imperative to adopt it to remain competitive.

C. While it makes great entertainment to show machines like Hal in 2001: A Space Odyssey and other science fiction computers on TV, the reality is that AI is a fad. It will be at least another five to 10 years before there is sufficient use embedded to warrant adopting the applications available right now.
