When technology advancements occur, they can generally be considered as consumer level or enterprise level.

At work, a new version of the portfolio management solution may require us to undertake a brief overview training course, review some revised guidelines, or adjust how we interact with some of the capabilities.

In our personal lives, a new phone may have a learning curve as we get used to new functions, changed workflows, or different user interfaces.

But with artificial intelligence, it’s different. It’s a fundamental shift in how we interact with technology, and that requires us to consider both the enterprise level and personal development in order to understand how to make use of it effectively.

Additionally, we will interact with it differently depending on the context, and that too will require us to learn different skills. For example, learning how to use an AI solution to assist with the management of a project is different from learning how to effectively manage a project designed to add AI to an existing or new product offering.

If that weren’t enough, AI also brings in other considerations that are generally not at the forefront of other technological advancements. We need to consider legal and ethical use of data for example. We also need to consider different ways to interact. It’s not just a simple search; it may …
