When crises strike—natural disasters, humanitarian emergencies, or urgent local challenges—PMI members and volunteers often ask, “How can I help?” This space is where we come together to answer that question.
PMI in Times of Need is a forum for sharing ideas, resources, and opportunities to support those affected by crisis. Whether you're organizing a local event, connecting others to helpful tools, or simply offering your time or perspective — this is a space to make it easier for everyone to act, to aim higher in how we respond, and to show that together we can make a real difference. Together We Can Help.
Because when we unite around our shared purpose—to maximize project outcomes and elevate the world—we turn care into action. And in moments that matter most, it’s our willingness to connect, to listen, and to lead that allows us to create meaningful impact.
Share your ideas, stories, or calls for support here—because someone in our community might be looking for exactly what you’re offering. And together, we truly can make a difference.

Very interesting initiative, Ricardo. What prompted you to come up with this?

Hi Rami!! Thank you for asking — it actually came from something we’ve seen time and time again in our PMI community. Whenever there’s a crisis—whether it’s a natural disaster, a humanitarian emergency, or even a local challenge—the first thing people ask is, “How can I help?”
Seeing how willing our members and volunteers are to step up is inspiring. However, sometimes, in the urgency of the moment, it’s not easy to know where to start or how to coordinate efforts. That’s what sparked the idea for this space.
It’s really about living the values we talk about — making it easy to take action, aiming higher in how we support others, being welcoming to all ideas and contributions, and staying curious about how we can do more, together. In the end, it’s a way to turn that incredible spirit we have as a community into something tangible — a system where we can share, connect, and help amplify each other’s efforts without just talking about the technical aspects of disaster recovery or methodologies and frameworks.
When we come together around a shared purpose, we create real impact... so I hope everyone in this community will support the movement

Ricardo Triana This is a deeply aligned and timely initiative.
In times of crisis, the role of project professionals extends far beyond tools and timelines — it’s about mobilizing empathy, structure, and collective intelligence to deliver meaningful impact where it’s needed most.
"PMI in Times of Need" is more than a forum — it’s a reminder of our unique ability to bring clarity to chaos, to coordinate efforts under pressure, and to turn good intentions into effective, sustainable actions.
I hope this space becomes a true lab of solidarity-driven innovation — a place where we exchange not just ideas, but practical frameworks, local stories, and replicable tools that bridge compassion with execution.Because in the end, we don’t just manage projects.
Thank you, Ricardo Triana, for creating this meaningful space. It’s inspiring to see PMI mobilizing collective strength in times of crisis. When project professionals unite with purpose and compassion, we move beyond planning we become a force for real, human impact. Looking forward to contributing and learning from this community.

Community... now is the time to act. Any ideas on how we can help our colleagues, their families and friends in Texas because of the flooding that recently happened there? Our North America Community team is already working with the Chapter to see how we can support but there could be additional ideas coming from the community that could serve as a relief. Let me know if you have any.
