Is AI Actually Going to Replace People?

I fully understand why the fear of artificial intelligence taking jobs exists; the potential of the technology is greater than pretty much anything that has come before. But I think that we need to keep a sense of reality when we consider the implications. Consider this simple example.

An AI agent is asked to develop a new product and is provided parameters for the features, target market, price point, and so on. It develops an offering and identifies the backlog of features that need to be built.

An AI agile team takes that backlog and develops a solution. Ater a few iterations between the technical AI and business AI agent teams, there is a launch-ready product/. It is handed off to AI IT ops for release, while the AI marketing and sales teams get on with raising customer awareness and closing deals.

Simple, straightforward, and likely far quicker than could ever be achieved by humans.

And also, completely unrealistic.

Even if we assume that a human provided the initial parameters for the product (and that could also have come from AI), there are far too many points of failure in this process. And those failure points don’t exist simply because the technology is still new and evolving. They exist because the risks involved are massive, potentially threatening the existence of the entire organization.
