Managing Participation in a Charitable Event
Organizations often promote themselves by supporting charitable groups, commonly via participation at special events led by those charities. In these cases, there is opportunity for you to show your skills in a unique environment. You can make the most of this opportunity if you understand the reason your organization is supporting the charitable group and where specifically your help is needed.
The Rationale Behind Participation
It is important to know the rationale behind your organization’s support for a charity event. Your organization may have a common mission with the charitable group. Your organization may have potential customers or clients among those aided by the charity. Or the charitable group may simply be one of those that your organization has chosen to support as part of its goodwill campaign.
These examples of events and how your organization's goals align will help you see how your activities can fit:
- A mental health support non-profit uses a community walk to promote a message that mental health should not have a stigma attached to it.
