I’ve worked long and hard to get the experience, take the classes, and pass the PMP certification exam. Now I’m concerned from what I read that AI may be able to automate things and do my job for me. I would like to take additional training, but I’m unclear if that would be coming out of my pocket or if my employer would pay for it.
A. Employers are reticent to cover any additional training that would enhance your performance skill sets, as they see that as a road for you to apply for a better job at another company with more responsibility and a higher wage. So, begin putting aside several hundred dollars a month to pay your own way for classwork to lead you to an internal promotion or a chance to move on to another position in another enterprise.
B. Check with your internal training department to see if they have any classes that interest you and would teach you skills that would be of value in your current position. If nothing is available that is of value to you, that means you have reached the highest level of training that would be of use to someone in your position in this company.
