Dr. Project: Updating Project Plans

 

Hello,

Need help pushing the project managers! We are writing from a finance company's Program Management Office. We have been trying to establish a Program Management Methodology for a year. Usually there are 10 ongoing projects at the same time. And our role is planning all projects and coordinating the communication between project managers, sponsors and internal customers by following the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology. But since we started to run program office in the company, we received several objections from project managers. They mostly think that project management methods and tools are not useful. Nowadays, they have started to plan projects the way we recommend. But still, we have some problems managing project plan updates in MS Project. Most of the project managers do not update their project plans punctually and properly. What do you recommend to make them update their project plans on time? How can we push them?
