Complete Your Assessment Before Completing Training Plan

Your decision to give e-learning a red or green light will have a significant impact on your project, so make it up front, as part of your training plan. (When virtually all training was the standard stand-up variety, this extra task of choosing training method was not so complex.)

 

Evaluate the Product

The best way to compare a training course to best practices is to take the course yourself. You can even take part of the course, and then check pieces such as the final exam to ensure the test has some kind of validity. Another way to quickly assess e-learning quality is to evaluate demos provided by the vendor or your training provider, realizing that the best examples are chosen for such demonstrations.

 

Ask Those Who Attend

Attendees in the training will be a good guide--IF you ask the right questions. A question such as "How'd you like the course?" will not get you the type of response you require. Ask representative participants the specific assessment questions listed in Part 1 and get complete answers.
