New Year, New Goals
No matter how cliche, most of us really do have a list of New Year resolutions that we want to obtain. How can you make this year stand out from the rest and actually accomplish the goals you set to achieve? There are five objectives you need to meet in order to pull off your accomplishments.
We all have ideas that can succeed. It really doesn't matter if it is the get-rich-quick idea that only needs the right patent to move forward, or earning a promotion or project lead at your current company. The most common problem is that most of us seem to hit that proverbial brick wall when it comes time to take action and actually set the plan in motion.
When I hold workshops to help people accomplish their professional goals, I ask the people I am working with what some of their roadblocks to accomplishing their goals are. What has prevented them from taking that next step, from making that marketing call or meeting with their boss to talk about how to build their career goals? The most common answer that I hear is that they very rarely get to first base. The idea rattles around in their brains, exciting them during the commute to work and then slowly loosing momentum as they begin the sometimes mundane tasks of everyday work.
