Project planning software for the Tablet PC helps an IT consultant capture key line-user feedback while walking the 'shop floor.'

When dataDOC Technologies is called in to help an organization re-engineer processes to improve operations, chief technology officer Richard Goldberg likes to get a ground-level view of the business before doing anything else. "We typically meet with line staff and map out what they do, where it touches other areas, and what tools they use to accomplish their jobs."

In the past, Goldberg would gather this vital information using traditional word-processing or flow-charting tools. And while these applications created views of problems and solutions that made perfect sense to him, they were too complicated for most customers to understand.

Today, Goldberg uses MindManager 2002 for Tablet PC, which helps him convey complex processes visually. The Mindjet software has also improved his ability to work on the go, whether that means making the most of a business lunch or interacting with workers in hospital halls or on factory floors.

By improving communication with stakeholders, MindManager has helped dataDOC win new business. Recently, one prospective customer contacted dataDOC about Internet security issues.
