Getting (and Keeping) the ERP Workforce
What is the status of today's ERP workforce? Fast and furious. Lots of work, long hours, cutting-edge technology and let's not forget compensation to go along with hiring that knowledge. But it's another area in which we are moving farther away from a buyer's market.
Today's companies need to take the reigns and educate their recruiters and hiring manager's on today's employment market and develop a plan on how they need to move forward to aggressively recruit today's top ERP talent. Identifying it as an aggressive industry with hurtles we have to cross is the first step in the battle.
Having said that, enterprise systems is one of the toughest markets to recruit for right now. The folks that are fluent in SAP, CISO, etc., are in top demand, so expect to have to recruit and retain accordingly. Effective companies need to arm themselves with effective tools of the trade: education, retention and investment.
Educating Recruiters
Problem: As we all know, there is nothing more irritating than being approached by an uneducated recruiter. Most people in the IT industry have dealt with a recruiter at some point, often with lackluster results. They have an unflattering reputation of being paper pushers and headhunters. But recruiters are here to stay, and hiring managers are going to have to learn to live with them. So the real question becomes
