If you ever doubted the power of IT certification, check out the results of Certification Magazine's recently released 2005 Salary Survey published in its December 2005 issue.
 
It's no surprise that having the right certifications looks great on your resume. But it also means more interviews, job offers and best yet, fatter paychecks. But that's only a morsel of good news. Read on and find out about the incredible outlook for PMs in 2006.
 
Over the past half-decade, most IT sectors have endured hard times. But that's no longer the case. Judging by the results of CertMag's most recent salary survey, the IT outlook gets better every day.
 
CertMag's survey is based upon responses of 35,167 IT professionals in 170 countries. A little better than 95 percent of those professionals hold technical certifications. The average respondent has 3.29 certifications, up from 2.95 certifications per respondent in 2004.
Who's earning the biggest bucks? Like 2004, information storage, security and Cisco networking yield the highest salaries. Following close on their heels, project managers and Java developers also fared well in the salary department.
 
The average salary for the current survey was $71,100, up from last year's average salary of $67.000.
